Arizona Cardinals center A.Q. Shipley went to Holdeman Elementary School in Tempe to help the Arizona Cardinals and Fuel Up to Play 60 promote health and fitness to youth.
Fuel Up to Play 60 focuses on encouraging youth to exercise and eat healthy in a partnership hrough the NFL and the National Dairy Council partnership
“It’s vitally important that we get kids to be embracing that healthier lifestyle, and that’s what I love about Fuel Up to Play 60,” said Pat Johnson, director of nutrition services for the Dairy Council of Arizona. “We’re seeing that pendulum swing in a positive way. They’re being more physically active, and they’re choosing those healthier, nutrient-rich foods.”

On Thursday, students at EAGLE College Prep school in Maryvale had two special visitors come to their school to talk to them about the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell and Arizona dairy farmer Gary Thompson, of Stotz Dairy, shared with the students how essential it is to Fuel Up – by getting three servings of dairy per day and to Play 60 – get 60 minutes of exercise each day.

PE teacher and Program Advisor Jan Brewer organized a fun-filled Fuel Up To Play 60 kick off event for her students at Lake Pleasant Elementary, which included a visit from Cardinals’ punter Drew Butler! Looks like a good time!

Arizona Cardinals‘ punter Drew Butler served up healthy breakfasts to dozens of students at Papago School in Phoenix Tuesday morning.
It’s part of National School Breakfast Week, and the event was put on by the Dairy Council of Arizona.
After the students got fueled up with breakfast, they had a chance to ask Drew questions and then the third graders headed outside to try to catch Drew’s punts!
More than 51.2 million breakfasts were served at more than 1,650 schools in Arizona last school year.
