Students, staff and parents at Spitalny Elementary took full advantage of the amazing Arizona morning weather by taking part in a Fuel Up To Play 60 sponsored Walk to School Day. Starting at a neighborhood park, participants enjoyed a few surprises along their path to the school including some high energy beats from the high school marching band, a finish line visit from Arizona Cardinals’ Big Red and a few words from Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton! The morning festivities continued throughout the day with a dance session including Big Red, followed by a healthy breakfast and outdoor activities. Overall a fun, festive and successful event bringing community together and encouraging health and wellness. Nice work, Spitalny Elementary!
