Phoenix Special Education teacher receives honor

This week, Mrs. Horvath was honored for her dedication as a Special Education teacher at North Canyon High School in Phoenix.

She was nominated by a mother who has struggled with schools, teachers and administration for her son and was on the verve of homeschooling him, until she met Mrs. Horvath.

“Immediately we felt comfortable and her care and interest showed greatly. She is kind, attentive and engaged in her students lives. She goes above and beyond to make sure that the children feel loved and that they are developing skills for success. From lip sync battles to basketball games with other high schools our special child has never been more integrated into the social norm of school. If you ever wonder if your child is having fun at an event you might just get a text with the biggest, most genuine smile that goes directly to your heart. This result is that of an amazing teacher that deserves  recognition for changing lives and building fundamental skills which will last a lifetime.”

Congrats to Mrs. Horvath!

The weekly winners are entered for a chance to become the Teacher of Year.

The KNIX 102.5 Teacher of the Week contest is sponsored by Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale and Dairy Council of Arizona.
