For more than 20 years, Mr. Eccles has been inspiring students to use critical learning skills to best understand world history.
Jeff Eccles from Westview High School in Avondale has been named Teacher of the Week.
Eccles teaches ninth through 12th grade history, and the parent who nominated him said his “dedication to the total student models respectful relationships with students, their parents, and at community events.”
“He teaches as an elite coach getting students ready for the championship level to the Super Bowl,” she wrote in the nomination.
“His humor is contagious, a remarkable educator and extraordinary role model for high school students.”
The KNIX 102.5 Teacher of the Week contest is sponsored by Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale and Dairy Council of Arizona.
The weekly winners are entered for a chance to become the Teacher of Year.
